Ready to ship March 9.

This unique-looking planthopper (Lycorma delicatula) has been accidentally introduced to the United States, Japan, and South Korea from China. In its native range, the spotted lanternfly is just like any other piece of the food web puzzle, feeding on a variety of flora and being fed upon, in turn, by a handful of parasitic wasps. But with no natural predators in its new territories, it has spread rapidly in just a few years and caused extensive damage to food crops and gardens.

Fortunately, this enamel pin is harmless, allowing you to enjoy the beauty and spread the awareness of the insect.

Approximately 2.5” tall, this soft enamel, double-posted pin depicts the iconic nymphs at various instars (stages of growth). Carded on our kraft Bug Box backer.

Originally from the February 2023 Bug Box. Public drop date: March 3, 2023.
